Nauvoo Trip

My parents came into town a couple of weeks back and we all took a trip to Nauvoo. It had been 12 years since the last time our family made the trip. We stayed in the same little old "White House Inn" on main street and it was just as I remembered it. It was a quick trip so we crammed all we could into a day and a half, which worked out well since we were exhausted from lack of sleep due to my dad's crazy-loud bear snore! (love you dad) We got in a session at the temple which was pretty amazing since the last time I was there. In place of the empty field and original cornerstones was the gorgeous Nauvoo temple. It is now a beautiful representation of the hard work and sacrifice that the saints put into it so many years ago.

We visited many of the homes of the members of the church, my favorite by far being my 3rd great grandfather's home, Wilford Woodruff'. Unfortunately after building it, he was only able to live there for 30 days before the saints were driven out.

We played a couple of sweet pioneer games, check us out... It turns out Allen is amazing at pushing a metal ring around with a stick!

That looks like so much fun! Andrew and I had an amazing time when we went there too! I bet it was even more fun for you guys since you went during the season when everything's open! You're looking pretty good for 25 weeks! Can you believe I only have less than 3 months left!

Just a quick note to welcome you to the 3rd trimester... the home stretch! By now you're little boy is probably running you ragged, don't worry he's just preparing you for life outside the womb! Our little girl is MUCH higher than Parker was and she loves to play with my ribs with her fingers and toes! It feels kinda weird. Like the movie ALIEN. LOL! Anyways... I still want to see birthday cake pictures! Take care and we love you!
