Spring Is Here...

I've been testing out some new settings on my camera, I love how this one turned out, but I'll admit it was purely an accident. If anyone is giving free photography lessons, send them my way...{ahem}...Brian.
Here I captured Ari's first experience in the sand. We met up with our friends Kiera and Benson at the park near our house for a little spring-park play. Ari loved it, and didn't seem to mind too much when he put the sandy phone in his mouth...although when I tried to brush the sand off, he was clearly upset! The weather was beautiful, warm and sunny, I even got to put sunscreen on the little guy...I can't wait for summer-beach days!

Old Town and Spice

Allen and I love to visit the northside. There's just something about the cute little houses all in a row in adorable neighborhoods, tree-lined streets, lots of fun shops, parks and well... other little families everywhere!

While out on our adventures in Old Town, we came across two little shops worth mentioning. First being Old Town Oil who imports amazing oil and vinegar's from all over the world, we picked up Pomegranate Balsamic and a Tuscan Olive Oil. It's oh-so-good mixed together in a yummy green salad with cranberries and Gorgonzola cheese. We just won't tell Allen, he gets so crabby when I share his creations.
Next door to Old Town Oil you will find The Spice House another discovery of ours. It too, prides itself on importing spices from around the world. And allows you to taste every spice before you buy it. Now Allen being the chef of the Patin House could not contain himself, 17 spices later, we checked out... me, being the baker, enjoyed picking out cinnamon from china and vanilla beans from Tahiti...so exotic! Check them out, you wont leave empty-handed (ok... i sound like a sales-rep, but we love it)!

Here are a couple shots from Old Town...

Love this one.

Ari loved watching the fish at the aquarium, and we were so close to buying one, until we remembered we'd be the ones taking care of it.

Happy Easter Weekend!

We're off to Nashville for a quick weekend trip. The grandparents can't wait to see Ari!
